What is my screen resolution?
Your screen resolution is detected and shown at the top of this page the moment it loads. The number that matters most is the physical resolution - the real count of pixels on the panel - which tells you whether a screen is true 4K (3840 x 2160), Full HD (1920 x 1080) and so on. This free tool also measures your refresh rate and shows your pixel density and color depth.
What these numbers mean
- CSS resolution is what websites see. It is the physical resolution divided by the pixel ratio.
- Physical pixels is the real number of dots on your panel - this is the figure that tells you if a screen is true 4K or 1080p.
- Pixel ratio is how much your system scales the display. A value above 1 means everything is enlarged for readability.
- Refresh rate is how many times per second the screen redraws, measured from the browser's frame rate.
Is my TV running 4K and 120Hz?
Check the Physical pixels box: 3840 x 2160 is 4K UHD, 1920 x 1080 is Full HD. For the refresh rate, keep this browser tab in focus and press Measure again - a tab can be limited to 60 frames per second even on a 120Hz panel, so a 60Hz reading does not always mean the TV cannot do more. To force the highest rate, make sure your TV or graphics settings are not in a power-saving picture mode.

How do I find my screen resolution?
Open this page and it shows your screen resolution automatically. The reported resolution is in CSS pixels; multiply by the pixel ratio to get the physical resolution the panel actually displays.
Why does my 4K TV show a lower resolution?
Browsers report resolution in CSS pixels, which are scaled by the device pixel ratio. A 4K screen at 150 percent scaling reports 2560 by 1440 in CSS pixels, but the physical resolution shown here is still 3840 by 2160.
Why does the refresh rate read 60Hz on my 120Hz screen?
The browser draws in sync with the display, but a tab can be capped at 60 frames per second by the operating system, power saving, or the browser itself, even when the panel runs at 120Hz. Put the browser in focus and measure again for the best reading.
Is this test accurate?
The resolution, pixel ratio and color depth come straight from your browser and are accurate. The refresh rate is measured from how fast the browser draws frames, so treat it as a close estimate that snaps to the nearest common rate.
